Yet, am proud! yay! :)
After watching the human Bella (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson) fall in love in Twilight, hearing Edward propose marriage to Bella in New Moon, and seeing Bella choose Edward over werewolf Jacob in Eclipse, you’ll finally see a beautiful Bella walking down the aisle towards her beloved Edward-so nervously at first until she sees her man-in Breaking Dawn, the first part of the last installment of this blockbuster movie series from the books of Stephenie Meyer. Weddings are truly wonderful because, as Alice says in the movie, they bring families together. Rosalie finally softens. Bella’s Mom and Dad come together to see her off. Bella gets introduce to the other Cullens and Edward brings Bella to the missing Jacob for a private poignant moment after the wedding.
Come to think of it, Breaking Dawn Part 1, unlike its predecessors that mainly shifted between romance and action, is really all about family. While on honeymoon on a charming island (watch out, parents, for several honeymoon scenes here), Bella immediately gets pregnant, and Edward and his family fear for her life as the ominously fast-growing baby literally sucks the life out of Bella. Edward and Jacob insist that Bella give up the half-human, half-vampire baby whom they believe is a monster, but Bella refuses, loving her baby so much that she would choose it over her own life.
I find it so moving how Bella is transformed in this movie from a love-struck girl to a devoted mother who would make the ultimate sacrifice of herself for her child (and would even drink fresh animal blood to feed her unborn baby!) I’m not surprised at all at how fast the transformation is, as Bella really had it in her all-along—fighting passionately for Edward at first, and so now, naturally, for their baby.
And I loved it how ever-so-loyal Jacob can’t turn his back on her and so allies with the Cullens to protect her and later, the baby, whom his werewolf pack wants to destroy. But Edward turns into a doting father too in the latter part of Bella’s pregnancy when he accidentally connects with the baby in Bella’s womb, and I was tickled pink seeing them so happy while listening to their baby and thinking of names for it that would really amuse you!
With all this love enveloping the baby, will it rally turn out to be a monster? What’s more, will Bella survive? And if she survives, will she turn into vampire, but a good one like Edward, or will she find it hard to control her craving for fresh human blood? Finally, how will the Volturi take all these?
So many questions but not all these will be answered in this movie, as there will be final installment that will be shown next year. I so enjoyed Breaking Dawn, though, that the memory of it should keep me going until the part 2 of this final installment is shown. And parents, you’d probably love it too how this phenomenal saga so bravely brings back such vanishing values in the West as having a single partner, abstinence from premarital sex, marriage, rejection of abortion and family loyalty. With all these packed with A-1 romance, humor, suspense, action and the supernatural into one movie, no wonder it’s such a blockbuster!
Can’t believe that until now, as of this writing, am still watching the movie, the fact that I have watched it eight times alreay! Am saga addict, admitted. J
